Kwara Poly Disassociates from Two Female Students Following Hotelier’s Murder and Police Display

Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin has officially disavowed the two female students who were paraded by the police in Abuja on Wednesday in connection with the alleged murder of a hotel manager in the state capital. According to the institution, they had been previously expelled from the polytechnic due to subpar academic performance.

The Public Relations Officer of Kwara State Polytechnic, Halimat Garba, conveyed this information in a press statement released in Ilorin on Thursday. The statement, titled “Re: How we killed Club owner in Hotel – Female Student,” clarifies the situation as follows:

“The Polytechnic Authority has been made aware of a trending story and video clip in which two individuals, Joseph Joy Adama and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa, were wrongly identified as students of Kwara State Polytechnic in connection with the alleged murder of a hotelier in Ilorin.

“Our records indicate that both individuals were withdrawn from the school after their first year due to poor academic performance. They are no longer students of our institution.

“The Polytechnic Management categorically affirms that its students are ambassadors of the institution, the state, and Nigeria as a whole, and are not involved in any form of disgraceful or criminal activities.”

During their parade and while speaking to journalists on Wednesday, one of the suspects, Adama, mentioned that she had a prior sexual relationship with the deceased. On the fateful day, they intended to steal from him, but when he resisted, they drugged him and left with his phone and other belongings, only to discover that he had passed away.
